Canada ranked one of the best places to retire

We are #14 according to the Global Retirement Index

Canada is considered the number 14 country in which to retire according to the Global Retirement Index, released by Natixis Global Asset Management, Canada is one of just six non-European countries to make the list of 20 nations. At number 19, the US barely made the list.

The index assessed performance indicators in four broad categories: health, life expectancy and access to quality health services, material wellbeing, and quality of life. It assessed individual factors such as crime rate, air pollution, and strength of a country’s financial system.

Canada received its highest marks for quality of life, with an emphasis placed on the country’s relaxed culture. Health was the country’s second-highest score, likely attributed to Canada’s extensive public health system.
